JOAN LINGARD

Joan Lingard (Edinburgh, 1932) is een Schotse schrijfster van jeugdboeken en romans voor volwassenen. Ze schreef een serie kinderboeken: de Kevin and Sadie-serie, waarvan meer dan een miljoen exemplaren werden verkocht.
Ms Lingard werd geboren in Edinburgh, maar ze groeide op in het Noord-Ierse Belfast. Beide plaatsen vormen vaak het decor van haar romans.
Joan Lingard won veel literaire prijzen, vooral voor haar jeugdboeken. Ze kreeg in 1998 een MBE (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) voor haar bijdrage aan de jeugdliteratuur.
