ROBERT SWINDELLS

Robert Swindells (Bradford, 1939) is een Britse schrijver van jeugdliteratuur en van kinderboeken. Hij ging al op zijn vijftiende van school en begon te werken bij een krant. Hij had verschillende baantjes (onder andere bij de Royal Air Force) voordat hij onderwijzer werd op een basisschool. Al tijdens zijn opleiding tot onderwijzer begon hij met het schrijven van jeugdboeken en hij bleef schrijven en werken tot 1980. Daarna ging hij fulltime schrijven.
Swindells won veel prijzen met zijn boeken (onder andere voor Brother in the Land, ‘Room 13’, Stone Cold, ‘Nightmare Stars’ en ‘Blitzed’).
