SUSAN GATES

Susan Gates is een Britse schrijfster die in 1950 geboren werd in de stad Grimsby aan de oostkust van midden Engeland. Op haar 18e vertrok ze naar Afrika, waar ze een aantal jaren les gaf op een school in Malawi.
Teruggekomen in Engeland ging ze Engelse en Amerikaanse literatuur studeren aan de universiteit van Warwick. Daarna was ze tien jaar lang docent aan een middelbare school. Uiteindelijk werd ze fulltime schrijfster van jeugdliteratuur.
