DOROTHY GILMAN
Dorothy Gilman (1923-2012) was een Amerikaanse schrijfster van kinderboeken, jeugdboeken en boeken voor volwassenen. Ze werd vooral bekend door de boeken over Mrs. Pollifax, een geheim agent die ook een fanatieke tuinier was.
Dorothy Edith Gilman werd in New Brunswick, New Jersey, geboren. Als kind schreef ze al verhaaltjes. Ze werd docent, ze trouwde, kreeg twee kinderen en scheidde later van haar echtgenoot. Ze woonde afwisselend in de staten Connecticut, Maine en New Mexico.
In 2012 overleed Ms Gilman op haar 88e in New York City.
