ROBERT LEESON

Robert Leeson (1928-2013) werd geboren in het Britse graafschap Cheshire. Na zijn middelbare schooltijd werd hij journalist. Hij was een tijdje militair in het Midden-Oosten en hij schreef in Engeland en in het buitenland voor tijdschriften en kranten.
Na het succes van zijn (derde) boek voor jongeren, in 1973, schreef hij veel boeken voor kinderen en young adults, en toneelstukken voor radio, TV en voor het theater.
Naast zijn schrijven besteedde hij veel tijd aan het bevorderen van het lezen en schrijven voor en door jongeren, niet alleen in Groot-Brittannië, maar ook in landen in Afrika en Azië.
