V.S. NAIPAUL

Sir Vidiadhar Surajprasad (V.S.) Naipaul (Trinidad and Tobago, 1932 – Londen, 2018) was een Britse schrijver die veel schreef over de (post-)koloniale gebieden van Groot-Brittannië. Zijn ouders kwamen uit India en trokken naar Trinidad. Naipaul studeerde in Oxford. Na zijn studie ging hij werken als freelance journalist. Al snel na de publicatie van zijn eerste roman werd hij full time schrijver. Zijn verhalen spelen zich vooral af in India en in Afrika.
In 2001 kreeg V.S. Naipaul de Nobelprijs voor Literatuur.
