ALDEN R. CARTER

De Amerikaanse jeugdboekenschrijver Alden R. Carter werd in 1947 in Eau Claire in de staat Wisconsin geboren. Behalve young adult novels schreef Mr. Carter ook veel non-fictie (ook meestal geschreven voor jongeren).
Met zijn jeugdliefde en latere echtgenote Carol Shadis en met zijn dochter maakte Alden Carter ook samen boeken.
Alden R. Carter studeerde Engels aan de Universiteit van Kansas. Hij werkte een aantal jaren als marineofficier en als docent, voordat hij zich volledig aan het schrijven kon wijden.
Mr. Carter kreeg veel lof voor zijn boeken en hij wordt beschouwd als één van de beste auteurs van de staat Wisconsin. Daarnaast kreeg hij veel literaire prijzen voor zijn jeugdromans.
